Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of dedicated real estate finance experience
- Substantial experience representing lenders and/or borrowers in commercial real estate financing transactions
- Familiarity with loan origination, structuring, due diligence, and closing
- Proficiency with complex real estate documentation, including loan agreements, mortgages, guarantees, and security instruments
- Strong academic credentials and excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
About the Role
A well-established national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate to join its dynamic and growing Chicago office. The ideal candidate will work closely with partners and clients on a wide array of complex commercial real estate finance transactions across asset classes. This is a client-facing position offering hands-on experience, mentorship, and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent institutional lenders, banks, and private equity firms in financing transactions
- Draft and negotiate loan documents for acquisition, construction, and refinance deals
- Conduct and oversee due diligence, title and survey review, and loan closings
- Assist with structuring and closing single-lender and syndicated loans
- Manage client relationships and support broader real estate transactional needs
