Salary: $300K – $450K

Advert Code: MLFS137

An established, sophisticated law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Investment & Finance Counsel to join its highly regarded real estate practice in either New York or Charlotte.

This is an opportunity for a senior real estate attorney to take a significant role on complex, high-value transactions spanning real estate debt and equity investments, financings, and sophisticated commercial real estate matters. The position offers substantial responsibility, direct involvement throughout the transaction lifecycle, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers on sophisticated mandates.

The successful candidate will bring at least eight years of complex commercial real estate experience, gained within a nationally or regionally recognized law firm. You will be expected to take ownership of matters, exercise sound commercial judgment, and confidently manage transactions from initial diligence through closing.

Your practice will include structuring and executing real estate debt and equity transactions; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan and other transactional documentation; overseeing transactional due diligence, including title and survey matters; coordinating closing requirements; and managing all aspects of complex transactional closings.

This position will particularly suit an attorney who enjoys substantive responsibility and wants to operate as a trusted senior member of a sophisticated real estate team. The environment is fast-moving and collaborative, with an emphasis on high-quality work, sound judgment, responsiveness, and individual ownership.

Candidates must hold a JD and have previous experience working in a law firm. A minimum of eight years of relevant commercial real estate experience is required. Candidates must also be admitted to the New York or North Carolina Bar, or be eligible for admission by waiver, as applicable.

The anticipated salary range is $300,000–$450,000, with final compensation determined by factors including relevant experience, professional background, seniority, and graduation year.
