A leading international law firm is seeking a 3rd-5th year Tax Associate to join its highly regarded Tax practice, with a preference for candidates based in Boston or New York. Candidates in other US offices may also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a transactional tax attorney to advise on sophisticated mergers, acquisitions, financings and investments, working alongside leading corporate and transactional teams on complex matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions
• Handle tax matters arising from sophisticated financing transactions
• Advise on debt and equity investments
• Structure and analyze complex transactional tax matters
• Conduct sophisticated tax research and analysis
• Draft tax-related documentation and substantive legal memoranda
• Work closely with corporate and transactional attorneys across complex matters
• Advise clients on practical and commercially focused tax solutions

Who You Are

• 3-5 years of post-JD tax experience
• Significant transactional tax experience
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, financings and investments
• Partnership, LLC and joint venture tax experience is a plus
• Strong tax research and writing skills
• Excellent analytical abilities
• Collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills
• J.D. required
• Licensed and in good standing in the jurisdiction in which the position is based
