Patent Litigation Associate, Mechanical

A leading intellectual property law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Litigation Associate to join its nationally recognized litigation practice. The successful attorney will work on sophisticated patent disputes for major technology and innovative businesses, taking on meaningful responsibility across case strategy, fact and expert discovery, depositions, substantive motions, witness preparation, validity and invalidity contentions, and trial preparation. The broader litigation platform handles complex IP disputes at every stage, including district court litigation and appellate proceedings before the Federal Circuit.

Candidates should have four to six years of substantial patent litigation experience and be comfortable taking significant responsibility for complex matters. Experience developing litigation strategy, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions and supporting trial teams is particularly important. A background in the mechanical arts is required, together with knowledge of computer technology, coding and signal processing.

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline is required, alongside a J.D., strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, written and oral advocacy skills.
